ZACH WINS YOUTH AMERICAN BOULDERING CHAMPIONSHIP
Dallas, Texas: January 13, 2013. Zach lead the A-Team at the Divisional Championship by taking home first place in the Male, Youth C category. This finish earns him an invitation to the US National Youth Championship in Colorado Springs in March 2013. Polly placed 11th in her very first A.B.S. appearance. Kiernan took 12th, with a personal triumph over a local rival. And, we are very proud of Matt, Emma, and Will for climbing strong and representing the A-Team! November, 2012: Zach Galla, A-Team member and 2011 U.S. National Climbing Team member, kills it in the Southeast's premier bouldering contest. Zach's combined score from Hound Ears, Stone Fort, and Horse Pens was thousands of points higher than his nearest competitor. Glow-in-the-dark climbing that crescendo-ed into a mind blowing grand finale on hanging, swinging volumes. Kiernan R., a member of the A-Team, eked out his adult competition to win the most awesome graffiti trophy EVER!RYAN STRICKLAND HEADS TO WORLDS!
In only his second year of competing in Speed, Ryan (age 17) placed 2nd at Nationals with a blinding 10 meters in 5.44 seconds. His silver medal climb shaved 1.03 seconds off his 9th place finish from last year. Whew! D'ja see that??!! Now, Ryan trains for the World Youth Climbing Championships in Singapore in September. Zach Galla (age 11) is now a US National Climbing Youth Team Member in both Sport (Difficulty) and Speed! Please cue the National Anthem! Congratulations to Zach, and wish him luck... Zach is a rising 5th grader at Level Creek Elementary School in Gwinnett County, and one of only two young climbers from Georgia to make the US National Sport Climbing Team! Congratulations Zach!
Ryan Strickland (age 16) finished 9th in the Nation in a very tough age category, Male Youth A. His fastest time was 10 meters in a blistering 6.57 seconds! Congratulations!!
