BaseCamp is an opportunity for intermediate and advanced level youth climbers to immerse themselves in the world of outdoor camping and climbing. A-Team coaches will lead BaseCamp. Curriculum will include both physical and mental training for more advanced outdoor climbing, as well as outdoor safety and primitive camping skills. Competitive youth climbers from climbing teams other than ours are welcome to join the A-Team in this exciting adventure.
To be eligible, climbers must regularly climb on top rope at the 5.9 level or above. Climbers age 14 & older must be competent at both Lead Climbing and Lead Belaying. Climbers ages 12 & 13 must be competent at Top Rope Belaying. This camp is not appropriate for younger climbers. BaseCampers must not only be prepared to spend a week in the woods, but must be enthusiastic about it! Climbers are expected to have their own climbing gear, including helmet.
In 2012, we camped and climbed at the Obed, Foster Falls, and Stone Fort. Back by popular demand: Whitewater Rafting! It was a non-stop adrenaline rush.
